WHERE TO USE PRODUCT
For outdoor use only. An exterior water-borne sealer that is ideal for wooden decking and all other wooden surfaces exposed to extreme weathering and wear. Woodoc Water-Borne DECK provides excellent UV-protection and water repellence. For optimal lifespan, use with TM Woodoc Water-Borne Plus-Life PRIMER.
HOW TO PREPARE THE SURFACE General:
Wood must always be clean, dry & smooth before use of product. Never wash/wipe wood with water/solvent before applying the product. New wood: Sand until bare and smooth. Remove dust. Previously varnished/sealed/oiled/waxed wood: Sand until bare and smooth. Start with a coarse grit sandpaper and end with a fine grit. Sand weathered wood to remove all traces of weathering or use Woodoc Wood Reviver. If Woodoc Wood Reviver is used, wash down with water. Allow to dry completely. Sand until smooth. Remove dust. The use of a paint stripper is not recommended. Wood previously treated with this product: Sand lightly to key the surface and to ensure proper binding between old and new layer. Remove dust and loose particles.
HOW TO APPLYTHE PRODUCT
Stir well with a flat paddle before and during application to ensure that contents are well mixed. Do not shake or dilute product. Apply product with good quality brush. Apply first coat until surface remains evenly glossy for at least 10 minutes after application. Apply more product to dull/dry areas. Allow coat to dry completely. Sand lightly with very fine sandpaper. Remove dust. Apply two more coats in the same way. Do not sand after third coat. Always apply a minimum of three coats. Proper film build on surface is essential. Insufficient application will affect durability. All aspects of the wood must be sealed – ensure that end grain is sealed very well. Warning: Deck surface can be slippery if wet, after sealing with this product.
