Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ Waxes and Chalk Paint™ Lacquer are the perfect partner for Chalk Paint™ because they have been developed to work together. They can be used for protection and to give a beautiful mellow matte finish on painted furniture, cabinets, and walls. The Soft Wax can also be mixed with Chalk Paint™ to make a coloured wax.
HOW TO USE
Apply Clear Wax with a cloth or brush over dry Chalk Paint™. The wax will appear to darken the paint, but on drying it won’t be so apparent.
For a distressed finish, rub gently with fine sandpaper either before or after applying the Clear Wax (while wax is still wet), then wax again.
For a more pronounced aged look use Dark Wax over the Clear Wax, working it into any brush textures and removing excess with the clear wax.
Finally buff with a cloth.
To maintain your furniture use a spray cleaner and re-wax.
Annie Sloan Soft Wax is water repellent so it can be used on kitchen cabinets and table tops- apply two coats of wax, letting the coats dry in between, and buff to a high sheen.
Soft Wax is not recommended for areas with a lot of water.
Wax brushes should be washed in hot soapy water immediately after use.
